Strawberry Masks

Strawberries are great for your skin. Not only are they yummy, but they contain antioxidants, vitamin C and salicylic acid. Antioxidants protect cells against ageing, vitamin C assists in collagen synthesis while salicylic acid sloughs off dead skin cells and brightens skin. Strawberries can be used in a variety of tempting face masks.

Lazy strawberry mask: simply cut a squishy strawberry in half and rub soft flesh onto cleansed skin. Rinse off after 20 minutes.

Strawberry scrub: Blend 2 large ripe strawberries until pureed. Add a teaspoon of brown sugar. Mix well. Rub well into cleansed skin. Rinse off after 20 minutes.

Dry skin mask: Add a teaspoon of honey to the pureed strawberries. Apply onto cleansed skin. Rinse off after 20 minutes.

Oily skin mask: Add a teaspoon of lemon juice to the pureed strawberries. Mix well. Apply to cleansed skin for 20 minutes. Rinse off. (NB egg whites can be used to replace the lemon juice. This creates a sticky peel off mask)

Get some friends together and throw a strawberry facial sleepover party 🙂 Strawberry daiquiris not included.
